EU Data Act User Information

Data is created all the time and everywhere. Our equipment also generate and send data. We utilize this general data for various data-driven products and services that support your fleet management, repair, and maintenance activities.

To ensure you can continue benefiting from these offerings, as a manufacturer of connected products, we are obliged to enter into a contract with you, the users of our connected products. This is required by the EU Data Act (Regulation (EU) 2023/2854), which will enter into force on 12 September 2025.

The new EU Data Access and Use Agreement applies to data collected and used by Hiab after 12 September 2025.

The EU Data Access and Use Agreement specifies the purposes for which Hiab uses the data, how such data is shared with third parties, how you can access and use data, and your obligations in case you transfer the ownership of the equipment to a third party.

Since the contract regarding access and use of data is mandatory for compliance with the Data Act and the continued provision of our digital offerings, your continued use of equipment originating from Hiab after 12 September 2025, will be deemed as acceptance of the EU Data Access and Use Agreement.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the terms of the EU Data Access and Use Agreement, please contact us at support.eudataact@digi.hiab.com.

You have the right to object to the EU Data Access and Use Agreement. You can opt out of Hiab collecting and using data generated by your equipment by contacting us at support.eudataact@digi.hiab.com.

Please be aware that opting out will result in the deactivation of all data-dependent features and services connected to your equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, remote diagnostics, fleet management integration, performance analytics, and other digital services that rely on data from your equipment. The basic physical functions of your equipment will remain unaffected.

Below you will find more information on the EU Data Act.
