When working in the railroad handling business, you need the equipment that is realizable, safe, and efficient. Hiab provides a full range of products of rail handling equipment including railroad cranes, truck mounted forklifts, and material handler cranes.
A railroad crane is used on the railroad for one of three basic purposes. These include for accident recovery efforts, freight handling in good yards, and permanent way maintenance. With the latest technology, HIAB railroad cranes are the safest, most rugged crane in the railroad industry. Even in the most time-sensitive situations, our cranes are reliable and durable for any repair. Known for its smooth and precise controls, downtime is kept to a minimum, allowing maximum productivity without compromising safety.
MOFFETT’s commitment to solution driven design is reflected in the versatility and functionality of each truck mounted forklift. The MOFFETT is the safest and most reliable solution for a wide range of applications. Supported by a nationwide service network with the expertise to keep your investment working day after day, year after year.
Whether pioneering new lines, carrying out maintenance of way on a tight schedule, or moving materials between railyards or sections under repair, HIAB loaders are a reliable and cost-effective solution to the railroad industry. With a solid, basic construction, smart controls, and features that facilitate the operators’ job, safety is built into these loaders.
HIAB HiConnect™ is a web-based dashboard that displays insights on equipment usage, location, time in operation, idle time, and productivity level. By enabling new insights, it helps you to further increase efficiency, productivity, and safety. HiConnect is the latest technology in terms of connectivity capabilities. Being able to remotely access data is key to maximizing your business with facts instead of assumptions. HiConnect maintains constant contact with all units, giving fleet managers the ability to stop unsafe behavior and usage before an incident happens. With the ability to view service history and plan upcoming services, your fleet has minimum downtime and increases daily efficiencies.
HIAB’s Variable Stability Limit system (VSL) monitors the truck’s stability by registering the extension of stabilizers and monitoring the pressures at each leg to determine the maximum safe capacity of the crane, allowing for higher capacities in situations where the legs are not able to be fully extended. VSL and VSL Plus are available on all Hiab K-HiPro cranes (285, 425 and 505) with VSL Plus available for the 505, which compensates for the weight of the load on the truck, offering even greater lifting capacities, increasing the efficiency of any business.
Remote Ground Mount (RGM) allows the operator to completely mount or dismount the MOFFETT without the need to climb onto or off of an elevated forklift. With up to a 25' range, the wireless remote control allows the operator to stand away from the machine and traffic during the mounting and dismounting process. This means staying out of the line of traffic or other jobsite hazards while giving optimal visibility during the mounting/dismounting process.
